A first for Houston.

Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, New Orleans, and Phoenix have each had this moment: national funding arrived to strengthen not one organization, but their ecosystem.

For the first time, a national funder has invested in how Houston connects — the relationships, the trust, and the conversations. That investment is SeedSwell.

What we build together is what Houston’s ecosystem stands on for years to come.

WHY HOUSTON

Generous city. Growing gap.

Houston is one of the most charitable cities in the country and one of the most economically segregated. The generosity is here. What’s often less visible is where it’s needed most and how collaboration can help.

Finding the right organizations, those organizations knowing about each other, and giving with confidence is harder than it should be. That’s not a motivation problem. It’s a systems problem — one where organizations with budgets under $1 million account for just 3% of Houston's nonprofit revenue, and Texas receives up to three times less philanthropic funding per person than the Northeast or Pacific coasts.

The organizations closest to community need are hardest to find not because their work isn't compelling, but because our current system was never built to surface it.

SeedSwell exists to close that gap.

A Place for You

Whether you're giving personally, directing corporate or family giving, advising clients or leading a community organization, you're likely looking for a clearer path to make the biggest difference.

Wherever you're starting, SeedSwell is here to provide a set of connected experiences to help you. Together we can arrive at the same place: a Houston where connection brings resources to where they are needed most.

The result? Less fragmentation and duplication, more collaboration, and increased impact.

We're building this with you.

When you get in the room with SeedSwell, you're bringing organizations and donors into community with each other and with you.

Closing Houston's gap takes two things: redirecting the generosity already here, so it reaches the organizations closest to need and growing new generosity, because confident giving is contagious. We need both.

For organizations, isolation isn't a choice. It's the absence of a shared room. SeedSwell is testing what happens when leaders finally know who else is doing what — we believe competition will give way to collaboration.

For Houston, that means existing dollars reaching further, and new generosity entering the system for the first time. Together, that's how the gap closes faster than either could alone.

Connecting both sides at once isn't the easy path. It's the one we believe Houston needs.

We're building this with you — givers, organization leaders, and community members — not assuming we have the answers, committed to finding them together.
